This is a picture of my Fiance’ GSE1 Labuguen and I. This is the annual holiday party for his command.  This was taken Dec 27, 2012, in Norfolk, VA. He is stationed on a DDG, based out of Norfolk, VA. I am not going to say which one, they are on deployment right now.  He has been in the Navy 12 yrs.  We plan to get married when he returns from deployment.  Obviously, I can’t say when that is, OPSEC and all. Lets just say, it will be before 2013 is over. My husband is a Sgt in the USMC and is currently deployed. We were married in a small ceremony on August 17, 2012 and our having our big ceremony next year. We met in high school Spanish class. We never dated (except for a week my sophomore year, his junior), because we were such good friends. Yet, we always had a “thing” for each other. We constantly texted, hung out, and helped one another through anything and everything. I was there through his in-processing to the Air Force, MEPS, swear-ins, sending him off, BMT, graduation, and now tech school. He sucks at smiling most of the time..but I love him anyways. The second picture here makes me smile because we’re both blushing hardcore; we didn’t mean to kiss for the photo, but it just kind of happened!  We met in April of last year when he was home on leave between finishing MOS school and going to his first duty station. We were at a party so did our best to talk to each other as much as possible without seeming creepy; we’ll both admit now that we felt a connection from the start. We ended up spending the next five days together as much as we could - I even drove 2 hours in the middle of the night for a few more hours together - and then he left for Japan for the next two years. We didn’t make things official until two days after he left which was only a week after we met, and we’ve been falling head over heels in love ever since. This photo was taken over the holidays when I visited him in Japan. He also proposed during this time, and we’re planning to tie the knot April of 2014 when he comes home from Japan for good. This is Brandt and I, we met through a mutual friend from high school. We talked for weeks and weeks and skyped for hours. When he came home on Christmas leave December of 2011 he took me on a date and asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes :) we’ve now been together a little over a year, he truly is my best friend and we have many dreams for the future. We have always clicked on a much higher level then I’ve ever had and going through a deployment has only made us stronger. :) he’s always well worth the wait and we battle the distance daily and hopefully someday soon we won’t have to anymore. :) http://halfofmyheartisacrosstheworld.tumblr.com

Our Story: We’re high school sweethearts. We met and started dating 9.17.09 my sophomore year and we’ve been happily together ever since. He proposed on 11:11 p.m. on 11.11.11, he left for his first deployment a month later, and he came home 7.20.12. We were married two days later on the 22nd. This man is my rock, we have sacrificed so much to be together and have the life we want but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m happiest when I’m with him and that will never change <3
